Junior forward recognized for success beyond the court

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate Men's Basketball junior forward Sam Wright has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, recognizing his outstanding achievements both on the court and in the classroom during the 2025-26 season.

Wright, an economics major, has started 31 games this season, averaging 12.3 points and 4.4 rebounds while logging 25.4 minutes per contest. The Hoover, Ala., native is shooting 49.0 percent from the field and has connected on 31.4 percent of his three-point attempts.

One of three Raiders to average double-figure scoring, Wright delivered three 20-point performances this season – including a career-high-tying 22-point outing against Boston University (1/24). He recorded 10 games with multiple 3-pointers, highlighted by a 4-of-8 performance from beyond the arc against Boston University.

Off the court, Wright is a two-time Patriot League and Raider Academic Honor Roll recipient. He has participated in several outreach programs alongside his teammates, including reading books to local schools and serving as a volunteer for Community Bikes in Hamilton.

The Academic All-Patriot League team represents student-athletes who have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and are starters or key players in their sport. Nominees must have completed at least one academic year at their institution.
