Crotty Collects Rookie of the Week Honors

Crotty earns his first conference recognition

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the first time in his career, Emmet Crotty was named conference Rookie of the Week with his performance in the team's 16–15 double-overtime victory over Navy.

Crotty recorded a career-high three goals and his first hat trick. All his offense came within the second half. He capitalized on a man-up opportunity in the third quarter and scored two massive goals in the fourth.

The first goal he scored came with 4:41 left to go in the fourth quarter to jump-start the Raiders' 5–0 scoring run. The first-year also scored off a solo attempt to net with 0:41 seconds remaining on the clock to trail by one, 15–14.

Crotty fired off eight total shots. He placed three on target while also collecting a ground ball.

Colgate's Casey Quinson and Andrew Lehrman received honorable mentions for their valiant efforts. Quinson notched a career high in goals (6) and points (7), in addition to recording one assist, grabbing seven ground balls, and causing one turnover.

Lehrman saw 65:47 minutes in the cage as he faced 45 shots, with 28 making it on target. He made 13 saves, including one in the fourth quarter and four in the double-overtime period, to lead Colgate to its second Patriot League win.

Colgate is set to compete in its third home game of the season on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Andy Kerr Stadium against the Lafayette Leopards.
