COACH DECOSSE'S COMMENTS
"It's difficult to see our season end this weekend. Tremendously proud of our team's resilience and the way they played for each other. There will be much to learn, but there's far more to be excited about moving forward."

"Thank you to our exceptional six seniors for all they've poured into CWIH. They have left our program and dressing room in a better place. Lastly, grateful for all the support we received from our CWIH community throughout the season."

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first period commenced with Colgate applying early pressure, securing multiple faceoffs and attempting several shots, although none found the net. Colgate's offensive persistence was highlighted by Alexia Aubin hitting the pipe at 13:35, but they were unable to convert these opportunities into goals. Despite a solid defensive effort, including key saves by Brooke Davis, Colgate conceded a goal to Cornell's Rose Dwyer at 7:59, leaving the score at 1-0 in favor of the home team as the period concluded.

Colgate managed to generate several offensive opportunities during the second period, highlighted by a power play at 13:33 following Delaney Fleming's penalty for the Big Red. Despite this advantage, Colgate's attempts were repeatedly thwarted by Cornell goalie Annelies Bergmann, who made several key saves. Colgate's defensive efforts were also notable, with Davis making crucial saves against multiple Big Red shots, maintaining the scoreless tie. The period ended with both teams unable to capitalize on their chances, leaving the scoreboard at 0-0.

Colgate's offensive efforts were persistent in the third period, as Elyssa Biederman scored a power-play goal at 6:24, assisted by Emma Pais and Sara Stewart, reducing the deficit to 2-1. Despite their numerous shot attempts, including those by Madeline Palumbo and Casey Borgiel, Colgate struggled to find the equalizer. The Big Red extended its lead with an empty-net goal by Georgia Schiff at 0:18, sealing the game with a final score of 3-1 in favor of Cornell.
