Haagensen and George bring back silver medals

BOSTON, Mass. - The Raiders' indoor track and field teams traveled to the 2025-26 Patriot League Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Mass this weekend. Kiran George and Melinda Haagensen took home silver medals in their respective events.

COACH FRANCE'S COMMENTS
"This year's conference championship marked a huge step forward for our program and a strong statement coming off last track season. The growth, resilience, and competitive edge our team demonstrated throughout the meet reflect the work that's been building behind the scenes all year.

We were led by outstanding podium performances from juniors Melinda Haagensen in the pole vault and Kiran George in the high jump. Both delivered when it mattered most, competing with poise and confidence on one of the biggest stages of our season. Their performances not only earned podium finishes but set the tone for what our program is becoming.

Beyond the podium, we had numerous performances right on the cusp of scoring; marks and efforts that show just how close we are to taking another significant leap forward. Those moments matter. They're indicators of depth, development, and the belief that this group is building something sustainable. I'm confident those near-breakthrough performances will translate into critical points and team success this outdoor season.

I could not be more proud of our student-athletes and coaches. They battled through challenges, weathered the storms of the season, and continued to show up with grit and determination. The championship meet was filled with personal bests and breakthrough moments that speak to their commitment and character."
