King, Collins garner All-League First Team selections

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – MG King (First Team), Audrey Collins (First Team), and Paige Fisher (Second Team) garnered All-Patriot League honors following their standout performances during last week's four-day Patriot League championship at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md.

King won gold in the 200-yard backstroke, becoming Colgate's first gold medalist since 2013 and the program's first to win the 200 Back since 2012. The junior pulled away late, clocking in at 1:56.51, beating out American's runner-up swimmer by more than a second

A native of Lake Forest, Ill., King compiled 55 scoring points – good for third-best on the team – and was also a key contributor to Colgate's top-five 400 Medley, 400 Free, and 800 Free relay teams. They also won the B Final in the 100 Back with a time of 55.11.

Collins led the team with 74 individual points scored during the four-day championship, good for 13th-best overall at the meet. She broke the program's record in the 100 Fly, while qualifying for three A Finals along with a pair of top-four finishes.

The senior captain from Wayne, Pa., placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:01.25) and 100 Fly (54.02), while taking eighth in the 100 Breast with a time of 100 Breast. Collins also contributed to Colgate's 400 Medley and 400 Free Relay quartets that captured top-five finishes.

Fisher scored 63 points for Colgate, good for 22nd best overall and second on the squad. The first-year set a new program pace in the 200 Breast, won two B Finals, and qualified for one A Final during her first run at the Patriot League championship.

Fisher won the B Final in the 200 IM (2:02.28) and 200 Free (1:49.86). She shattered the program record in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:16.50, securing sixth place overall. Fisher also keyed Colgate's 400 Medley, 400 Free, and 800 Relay teams that claimed top-five placements.

King and Collins, who both garnered All-League Second Team honors last season, became Colgate's first athletes to earn First Team laurels since 2014 (Morgan Cohara).
