The Raiders will compete in 18 matches

HAMILTON — The Colgate women's tennis team is gearing up for the Spring 2026 season, following an eventful fall under the direction of new Head Coach Damien Prohaska. The fall season was a period of growth and competition for the Raiders, setting the stage for what is to come in spring.

The program is set to open its season in western Pennsylvania to face Duquesne on Friday followed by Saint Francis on Saturday.

"It's been fun getting this group ready for the spring season and they are energized and ready to go," said Prohaska. "They put in a lot of work over the fall semester, on-court and in the gym. They have really improved upon the details of their preparation and have worked to establish some great habits individually and as a team.

During the fall, the team participated in four matches that showcased both individual talent and team dynamics. Senior captain Amelia Galin and junior Sophia Montero shone in doubles, capturing the Carousel Classic doubles title with an undefeated performance. First-year Caroline Brown made a strong debut with two singles wins, while sophomore Rebecca Hess continued to build on her previous success with notable victories.

The Raiders hosted a successful home invitational and competed in the Regional ITA Tournament at Harvard, where they secured multiple main draw wins. The fall season concluded with the Patriot League Individual Championships.

As the spring season approaches, Colgate will look to capitalize on the momentum from their fall campaign. Coach Prohaska, entering his first spring with the Raiders, aims to guide the team through the upcoming season. Key returners and captains Galin and Sasha Herman will help lead the team.

"They already work so hard for each other and have such great energy as a group, so getting our process in place was the next step," said Prohaska. "We've held each other accountable in this sense and have shown immense maturity. I can't wait to see where this spring takes us and I know we're excited for the challenges ahead."

With a blend of seasoned players and rising newcomers, Anson Silverfield, Vivian Hall, and Brown, the Colgate women's tennis team is prepared to tackle the spring schedule.

Following their back-to-back matches in Pennsylvania, Colgate will cost Patriot League opponent Boston U. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y.
