Drouin earns third preseason recognition

HAMILTON — Senior captain Hunter Drouin was named to USILA Third Team preseason All-American and Insider Lacrosse's preseason All-American honorable mention.

Per Insider Lacrosse, "The Nike Lacrosse Media All-Americans are selected by a collection of more than a dozen voters who also vote in the weekly Media Poll" said Editor-In-Chief Matt Kinnear. "Voters submitted first-, second-, third- and honorable mention teams; those were tallied, with players receiving the highest vote totals sorted into teams. Honorable Mention players consist of players who did not earn enough votes to make one of the three teams but still had a significant number of votes."

Last season, Drouin started in all 18 games, scoring 32 goals, including a career-best six goals in a victory over Harvard. Drouin also registered a hat-trick in five different games, contributing significantly to the team's success in the quarterfinal and semi-final wins over Army and Boston U. Additionally, he dished out 16 assists, culminating in a total of 48 points for the season. His offensive contributions were pivotal in leading the team to capture the 2025 Patriot League championship, marking their first title since 2015.

Throughout his career, Drouin has appeared in 44 games, making 39 starts. He has accumulated 79 goals and 33 assists, totaling 112 career points. His performance is underscored by a .573 shot on goal percentage and notable defensive efforts, including 59 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Drouin's accolades include being a two-time First Team All-Patriot League selection and a back-to-back All-American honorable mention by Inside Lacrosse, USILA, and USA Lacrosse. He was also recognized as a Nike Lacrosse Media honoree following his junior season.

Colgate set to face No. 10 Penn State at Holuba Hall in their season opener on Sunday at noon. This marks the third consecutive season the Raiders will face the Nittany Lions to kick off their campaign.
