Fitzpatrick Adds Three to 2026 Spring Roster

Trio of transfer student-athletes join Colgate Football

HAMILTON – Colgate University Fred '50 and Marilyn Dunlap Head Football Coach Curt Fitzpatrick announced the addition of three sophomore transfers: offensive lineman Thomas Gearity (Central Florida), defensive back Chase Jarrett (Central Florida), and quarterback Joey Tomasso (William & Mary), who will join the Raiders this spring semester.

"We are thrilled to add three high-quality young men to our program," Fitzpatrick said. "They will immediately add to the depth of our roster and I expect them to come in ready to compete this spring and help to continue to elevate our program as we build toward the 2026 season."

Top 50 academically in his class…graduated with honors…finished high school with an AA…
named All-County offensive lineman while playing for Osceola High School…played center and right tackle for his high school squad.

Brother Gerard was a part of the early signing class and will join the Raiders in the fall of 2026.

Appeared in one game for Central Florida, suiting up in Provo against No. 11 BYU…attended Plant High School in Tampa, Fla., playing 36 games across the seasons on varsity…tallied 261 tackles throughout high school, headlined by 261 during his senior campaign…secured 21 TFLS, three sacks, and nine interceptions…rushed for four touchdowns and 192 yards on 39 carries in 2023…reeled in 368 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.

Standout quarterback at Waverly High School…ranks third in New York High School history in career yards and career touchdowns, and fourth on NYHS' single-season list for yards and touchdowns…two-time All-State selection and 2023 Class C Player of the Year…finished his career with 672 completions, 9,183 yards, 104 touchdowns, 2,144 rushing yards, and 43 rushing touchdowns…also an All-State basketball player after averaging 30.9 points per game…captain of the math team.

Personal
Son of Joe and Gwen Tomasso…father was a member of the golf team at the University of Rochester…sister, Alex, played golf collegiately at Merrimack and Saint John Fisher…sister, Sidney, played basketball collegiately at Saint John Fisher.
