Offensive, Defensive Players of the Week Headline Colgate Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After their standout performances in Friday's season opener against No. 22 Monmouth, senior wide receiver Treyvhon Saunders and junior defensive back Tymir Wynn were named Patriot League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Saunders racked up 13 catches for a career-high 223 yards to go along with a career-best two touchdowns. His 223 yards were tied for third-most in a single game in program history, and the most by a Raider in a contest since 2016. The senior's first catch of the game went for a career-long 61-yards, one of his five receptions of 20 or more yards in the game.

Saunders keyed one of Colgate's better offensive productions in more than a decade. The Raiders racked up more than 500 yards of total offense for the first time since 2018. He moved into third on the program's all-time receptions chart with 193 for his career.

Wynn registered two interceptions, his second career two-pick game, on back-to-back drives in the endzone. His first interception came on a deep ball where he juggled it on his way down before snaring it in the endzone. One possession later, he read an out pattern perfectly and came down with the interception on fourth down to stall Monmouth's drive in the endzone. Wynn finished the game with six tackles including five stops.

Wynn tallied three interceptions during his sophomore season, including two in Colgate's win over Georgetown last October. The junior defensive back now has five interceptions for his career.
