Raiders will host the Harry Lang Invitational Saturday

HAMILTON - The Colgate cross country teams will open up their 2025 season this Saturday at the annual Harry Lang Invitational hosted on the Colgate campus.

The men's team is looking to build off a fourth place finish at the Patriot League Championships last year while the women's squad will look to bounce back after an eighth place finish in 2024.

"This season is about more than races—it's about growth, resilience, and representing Colgate with pride every time we step to the line," Coach France said. "With a strong group of seasoned returners and a talented group of first-years already making an impact on our team's cohesion, we're excited for what lies ahead. Guided by a fantastic group of captains leading the way, the energy and commitment within this team set the tone for a special fall."

The Raiders added eight newcomers to the team this year to join the 20 returning student-athletes. Nell Droege will look to continue her dominant start to her collegiate career after setting a personal record at the Harry Lang Invitational last year and placing fifth at the Yellowjacket Invitational. Droege will serve as captain alongside Audrey Luell.

Junior Frances Munger also returns for her third season with the Raiders. Munger competed in four meets last year, setting a personal record in the 5k at the Lafayette Invitational with a time of 21:12.3 and a 6k personal best at the IC4A/ECAC Championships with a time of 24:52.0

On the men's team, Owen McMorrow and John Griffith return for their senior seasons after helping the Raiders to their best Patriot League finish in 20 years. McMorrow set an 8k personal record with a time of 24:36.3 at the Patriot League Championships and competed at the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Championships. Griffith ran a personal best at the Patriot League Championships with an 8k of 24:22.9

Dakin Ebmeyer heads into his third season with Colgate after competing in five meets last season. Ebmeyer was named captain along with McMorrow and Liam Davis.

After the Harry Lang Invitational, the Raiders will take a trip to State College, Pa. for the Penn State Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational on Sept. 12. Colgate will then head to Rochester, N.Y. for the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Sept. 20 before the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 3. The Patriot League Championships are slated for Friday, Oct. 31 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
