Box Score SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The women's tennis team defeated Wagner 4-2 on Friday night inside Drumlins Country Club. Colgate took the doubles point in dominant fashion, then competed late through the night to grind out victories on three singles courts to win the duel, moving the Raiders to an even 5-5 on the season.

"Credit to the Wagner ladies, they gave us all we could handle, particularly the top three ladies" said head coach Bobby Pennington. "We continued our hot doubles play and Amelia , Rebecca and our closer Eklund clinched the singles. After an absolutely brutal practice and match schedule we are thrilled to be back where we should be with a winning record. We have a sudden turnaround for an elite Army ballclub today."

The Raiders opened up with a strong doubles showing, taking courts one and two by a score of 6-2 on both. Junior Amelia Galin and sophomore Sophia Montero teamed up on court one, and senior captain Eliza Podlas and sophomore Carina Cristobal were the victors on court two. Senior captain Addie Eklund and first-year Rebecca Hess went unfinished on court three with a score of 4-4.

Galin started off singles action with a bang for the Raiders, taking court one 6-3, 6-2. The Seahawks took back two matches with wins at lines two and three to even the matchup at 2-2, but Hess immediately swung momentum back towards the Raiders with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at line five. Eklund clinched the match for the squad with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at line four at 11:56 p.m.

The Raiders return to action on Saturday, where they will take on Army at 3 p.m. at West Point.
