Box Score SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Colgate men's tennis improved to 5-3 on the season with a win over Wagner on Friday night inside Drumlins Country Club. The Raiders took the doubles point and four singles matches along with it to comfortably win, 5-2.

"A very gritty performance from our men last night against a talented Wagner team," said head Coach Bobby Pennington. "We won our fifth-straight doubles point to set the tone. In singles, Israel, Viding and Falcon won in straight sets. I'm going to give the game ball to Lee with a come from behind gritty win at three. Next up is a huge Patriot League clash with Navy tomorrow."

The Raiders opened up taking the doubles point with strong performances from lines two and three. Junior Aidan Chung and first-year Tim Viding won 6-2 at line two, and sophomores Parker McGowan and Jerome Falcon clinched the point with a 6-3 triumph at line three.

Colgate continued the doubles momentum with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph by senior captain Josh Israel at line two to take a 2-0 lead in the matchup. However, the Seahawks were able to cut into the deficit with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 win at line one over senior Captain Benito Vlassis. 

Junior Aidan Lee triumphed at line three 6-7 (7-3), 7-5, 6-1 to push the lead back to two matches for the Raiders. Falcon clinched the matchup for the Raiders with a 6-2, 6-3 win at line five, and Viding added on with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at line six.

The Raiders return to action on Sunday at Drumlins for a conference matchup with Navy at 3:30 p.m.
