Raider Quartet Named All-ECAC

Hannah Murphy, Emma Pais, Elyssa Biederman and Kristýna Kaltounková earn postseason honors

DANBURY, Conn.  — No. 5 Colgate women's hockey landed three skaters and a goalie on the ECAC All-League teams, the conference announced this week. Kristýna Kaltounková earned a first-team bid, Hannah Murphy and Elyssa Biederman were given a second-team nod, and Emma Pais was named to the third-team.

Pais, the 2023-24 ECAC Rookie of the Year, is sixth in the league this season with 17 goals and top-10 in total points with 34. Her nine power-play tallies rank second in the conference, and her five game-winning snipes are tied for the second-most among ECAC skaters.

HCA Goalie of the Year Semifinalist Hannah Murphy boasts the highest win total in the ECAC this season with 23, the third-best mark in the entire country. She has made a career-high 828 saves this season for an average of 28.55 per game, both the second-best marks in the ECAC. Murphy's .941 save percentage is also second in the conference. She has now been named to an all-league team in three out of her four years as a Raider after a second-team placement in 2022-23 and a third-team spot last season.

Biederman has now earned an All-ECAC honor for the third-consecutive season. She is tied for the league lead with 31 assists and also holds a tie for most points in the conference with 45. Biederman has also over doubled her previous personal-best with six power-play goals so far this season, tied for the fourth-most in the ECAC.

Kaltounková earned her fourth all-league honor in her five year career at Colgate, with this being her first time placed on the first team. Her 26 goals and 46 points are both second in the ECAC, and her six game-winning goals are the most by any skater in the league. Kaltounková also has the best faceoff percentage in the conference winning .656 percent of her draws.

The four all-league Raiders take the ice in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals this weekend against No. 13/14 Princeton, who is seeded seventh in this year's playoff bracket. The second-seeded Raiders host the Tigers for a three-game series starting with a Friday night matchup at 6 p.m.
