Bayless earns second honor while Rudolph claims a career first

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — After a commanding 3–0 week, two Raiders earned Patriot League Weekly Honors. Milan Bayless was named Player of the Week while Maddie Rudolph earned Defensive Player of the Week recognition.

As a team, the Raiders posted a perfect week, defeating non-conference opponent Binghamton as well as Patriot League foes Army and Holy Cross. In 10 sets, Colgate dropped just one—to Binghamton—before sweeping both Patriot League opponents on Cotterell Court.

Bayless earned her second honor of the season, having consistently led the team offensively week after week. In this week's matches, she totaled 52 kills—12 at Binghamton, 19 against Army, and 21 against Holy Cross. In the win against Holy Cross, Bayless boasted a .606 hitting percentage and hit.342 for the week overall. In addition to her kills, she tallied two service aces, 22 digs, eight blocks, and 58.5 points throughout the week.

Rudolph earned the defensive weekly award for the first time in her career. An unstoppable front at the net, Rudolph totaled 16 blocks—eight against Binghamton— and recorded 11 digs, including a season-best seven against Army. Not limited to defense, the senior also contributed 24 kills off 44 attempts, boasting a .523 hitting percentage. She also tacked on two service aces for a grand total of 34 points.

First-Year Julia Oster earned honorable mention for her contributions this week. Known for doing the dirty work, she recorded 50 digs, including a career-high 21 against Binghamton. Offensively, she added one kill, nine assists, and three service aces to cap off the week.

Looking ahead, the Raiders will hit the road to face Navy on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a match up with Lehigh on Saturday at 4 p.m.
