Duo Earns a Pair of Victories Each in Double Dual

BOSTON – MG King and Audrey Collins captured a pair of victories each to lead the Colgate women's swimming and diving team in its return to the pool on Saturday afternoon.

COACH PRETRE'S COMMENTS

"With several key swimmers out today, and flying across the country yesterday, I'm very pleased with the grit and fight that our team showed. It was exactly what we need as we go into the stretch run and to have a fast February when it matters!"

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Raiders shined in the 200 Yard competitions, which saw all four individual victories. King landed first-place finishes in the Freestyle (1:54.95) and Backstroke (2:02.35), while Collins hauled in gold in the Butterfly (2:08.62) and Individual Medley (2:06.62).

King's victory in the 200 Backstroke clocked in two seconds faster than their closest competitor from Boston University. The sophomore edged Boston U's swimmer by just under two seconds in the Freestyle victory.

Collins earned a narrow victory in the Butterfly, edging BU's second-place finisher by just .3 seconds. She finished atop the IM leaderboard by two seconds faster than her nearest competitor from Fairfield.

Ellie Sundin shined once again on the diving board, landing a second place finish in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 238.40. She earned her second podium finish with a third-place tally in the 3-Meter Dive, registering a score of 239.80.

Regan Hau and Natalie Hofer earned podium finishes with a pair of third-place ranks in the 100 Breast (1:08.59) and 200 Breast (2:29.24), respectively. Hau, Collins, King, and Elizabeth Rainey fueled the 200 Medley Relay team to a third-place time of 1:47.61.

The Raiders fell to Boston University, 188-111, and to Fairfield, 186-114, in dual-meet action.
