Milan Bayless paced the team with 10 kills to go along with a .292 hitting percentage. Abby Shadwick landed nine kills while first-year Tiana Owens added seven. Colgate hit .202 as a team. Kansas was led by Ayah Elnady's 12 kills and a .474 hitting clip.
COACH BAKER'S COMMENTS
"I was very proud of our team's fight today. I thought we played some of our best volleyball of the weekend against a perennially strong Kansas program. We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend and got what we wanted out of it. While we would like some more match wins, this weekend was about growth and evaluation. We certainly have more work to do, but I see a lot of positives about this team."

Colgate posted a match-best .308 hitting percentage in the opening frame. Kills from Maddie Rudolph and Shadwick helped the Raiders stay within 12-11 but that was as close as they would get. The margin was still within reach at 23-19 after a kill by Owens, but Kansas completed the victory with the final two points of the frame to seal the 25-19 score.
S2 | Kansas 25, Colgate 17
A kill from Frances Torres pushed Colgate to an early 5-4 lead in the second set. Kansas followed with an 8-1 burst, ended by a kill from Lal Akin which immediately sparked a 3-0 response for the Raiders who trailed 12-9 after an ace by Rachael Martinez. The Jayhawks took control from there with an 8-3 run and pulled away for the 25-17 triumph.
S3 | Kansas 25, Colgate 15
The Raiders did not go down without a fight, but multiple runs from the Jayhawks proved to be too much to overcome. Bayless' kill trimmed Colgate's deficit to 13-9 before Kansas answered with another 8-3 run to snatch the momentum. Shadwick's kill closed the Raiders within 22-15 before Kansas finished off the final three points to secure the set and match.
