Three Raiders Invited to Team USA National Festival

Two alumni and one current student-athlete will attend National Festival in Lake Placid

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Elyssa Biederman '26, Sydney Bard '24 and Allyson Simpson '24 were all selected to attend the Team USA Women's National Festival from Aug. 4-11 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., USA Hockey announced on Thursday.

The trio of Raiders have previous international experience as they shared the ice during last year's National Festival and the 2023 U22 Collegiate Series. Team USA swept the U22 series last year with three victories over Canada powered by two assists from captain Simpson and one helper from Biederman, who made her Collegiate Series debut.

Simpson and Bard have extensive experience with Team USA already. Bard won a silver medal in the 2019 U18 Women's World Championships and also participated in the USA's 2024 National Evaluation Camp. Simpson most recently suited up for two games during the 2023-24 Rivalry Series last December.

Biederman skated at the 2021 USA National Festival after winning a silver medal at the IIHF U18 Women's Worlds in 2022.

This now makes six straight years where at least one Raider was represented at the USA Hockey National Festival, with Bard making her third-consecutive trip and Simpson earning her fourth invite in a row. Olivia Zafuto '19 represented the Raiders at the 2018 and 2019 National Festivals.
