ALBANY, N.Y. — Colgate fell 21-11 in a neutral site contest against Yale
Wednesday evening.
The Raiders opened the game on a 4-1 run.
Hunter Drouin notched the first tally just under two and a half minutes in. Following a Bulldogs' goal, Colgate got three in a row, beginning with
Kyle Rummel netting the first of his career off a face off victory. Drouin and
Michael Minicus then scored to push the lead to three.
Yale took off from there, going on a 9-0 run that extended into the second. The Bulldogs held a 6-4 lead after the first quarter, then added four more just under seven minutes into the second to take a 10-4 lead.
The Raiders got back-to-back goals to end Yale's run.
Jack Turner put one in at the
7:16 mark, and
Ben Trumble followed 45 seconds after. The Bulldogs then ended the half on a 3-0 run to pull ahead 13-6.
In the third, Yale outscored the Raiders by five.
Colin Ruppenstein netted Colgate's lone goal. The Raiders outscored Yale 4-3 in the fourth, with tallies from
Jacob Sposita, Minicus, and Trumble, and a man-up goal from
Liam Connor.
Quinn Fitzsimmons logged four caused turnovers to lead the Raiders' defensive efforts. Rummel scoped up a team-best nine ground balls.
