Swim & Dive Opens League Competition Against Lafayette

Women Improve to 2-0 with Impressive Home Victory

HAMILTON – The Colgate women's swimming and diving team improved to 2-0 to highlight Saturday's action against Lafayette inside Lineberry Natatorium. The women bested the Leopards 179-121, while the men fell just short in a close battle 161-133.

The women's team won 10 total events and they were led by MG King (3) and Lucy Art (2) combined for five first-place finishes. Michael Granin and Deacon Mascarinas each won two events out of six total victories for the men's team on Saturday.

COACH PRETRE'S COMMENTS

"Incredible meet today! Even with so many of our women out today with illness, our strong depth really showed what kind of them we are becoming. With the men, this was by far the best dual meet showing I've seen since we have been here. We lost today because we didn't have any divers, but they out-swam Lafayette by 3 points and that's huge for us. You can really see the confidence of the men's team. They just have to keep working hard and believing. As long as we are smart and stay healthy, we are going to be great!"
