CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Sydney Morrow, Hannah Murphy and Kristýna Kaltounková took three out of four weekly awards doled out by the ECAC, announced by the league on Wednesday morning. Morrow garnered her third Defender of the Week honor, Murphy earned her third career MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week nod, and Kaltounková was voted ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week presented by Bluebird Hotel.
The recognition comes on the heels of an excellent outing at the Battle at the Burgh tournament last weekend where the Raiders outscored opponents 14-2.
Murphy pitched her third shutout of the season in her start against Bemidji State on Saturday in the championship game, a 6-0 victory. She posted 24 saves, marking her fifth game this year with 24 or more stops.
Kaltounková, Battle at the Burgh All-Tournament Team Forward, finished the weekend with six points on two goals and four assists. Her scoring surge propelled her into the top spot in NCAA Division I scoring as she now leads the country with 35 points this season.
The NCAA's top-scoring blueliner Sydney Morrow tied Kaltounková for most points by a Raider last weekend. She contributed three scores and three helpers en route to an All-Tournament Team Defender selection.
The trio of Raiders will look to keep the momentum rolling as they enter the heart of ECAC play, starting with two top-10 clashes with No. 10 St. Lawrence and #5 Clarkson this Friday and Saturday. Puck drops are slated for 6 p.m. Friday night against the Saints and 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon versus the Golden Knights.
