Raiders fall to Sharks in first duel of the Spring

Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Colgate women's tennis was unable to steal a point from the reigning Northeast Conference Champions, falling to Long Island University on the road, 7-0.

"We were simply outplayed from start to finish," Head Coach Bobby Pennington said. "LIU is the best team on paper on our schedule and was too good, too tough, and too deep. Our only silver lining is our young women's team got out their nerves and should be ready to play this upcoming weekend."

The Raiders could not steal a game in doubles play, with Amelia Galin/Carina Cristobal losing on court one, 1-6. Sophia Montero/Gigi Bohan and Avery Isaac/Eliza Podlas were both defeated by the Sharks, 3-6.

Colgate was stifled in singles play but was led by Amelia Galin who played well in the second slot, falling to her opponent 2-6, 4-6. In her first action since last spring, junior Addie Eklund dropped her singles four bout, 4-6, 2-6.
