Raiders Keep Rolling With Fifth Straight

Colgate Leads From Start to Finish to Stay Undefeated in Conference Play

EASTON, PA. – The Colgate women's basketball team earned its fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday afternoon, beating Lafayette 58-46 at Kirby Sports Center.

With the win, the Raiders have won three straight Patriot League games, which is the best start in program history. Colgate also earned its fifth win in a row, tying the longest streak since the 2019-2020 season.

COACH ADEDUNTAN'S COMMENTS

"Winning is hard, winning on the road is especially harder. This was another very tough and intense game that I felt like our players came in with a certain level of intensity and a belief, a true passion and desire. We talked a lot about passion before the game started and we put ourselves in a position to win this game because of the plays we made. Starting specifically with defense.

I thought we made Lafayette uncomfortable, a team I think is going to win a lot of games in this league. Another great balanced effort for us. Multiple people stepped up and made shots, but again this was a testament to our defense, we were locked in for many possessions in this game.

Again, proud of this team, proud of where we are, and I still don't think we have reached our potential so we are going to keep getting better and keep working hard at it. We will celebrate this one and get ready for the next one."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Colgate scored the first bucket of the game and never allowed Lafayette within five points after that. The Raiders jumped out to a quick 10-3 lead and led 15-8 after the first quarter.

The Raiders picked up where they left off and began the second quarter on a 10-3 run. After a late second quarter run by the Leopards, Colgate went into the break up 30-21.

The third quarter turned out to be the decisive frame as Morgan McMahon scored eight straight points during the latter stages, pushing the lead to 44-32 heading into the last 10 minutes.

Colgate was able to hold off any comeback efforts from Lafayette and win its fifth straight game.

The Raiders offense saw three double-figure scorers, led by McMahon (14), Alexa Brodie (13), and Taylor Golembiewski (12).

Madison Schiller tied her previous season high in steals with three. She also added three assists and three rebounds. Tiasia McMillan was the game's top rebounder for the second consecutive outing finishing tied with Brodie with five rebounds.
