HAMILTON – First-year defender Connor Cates earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for his performances in Colgate's first two games of the season. 

In his collegiate debut, Cates played the full 90 minutes on the back line and recorded his first career assist in a 2-0 victory against Siena at home. He followed up his stellar performance with another 90-minute showing on Sunday night, recording the assist on Colgate's lone goal in a 3-1 loss at the hands of Marist. He also put one shot on goal in the contest.

Cates and the Raiders look to get back to their winning ways this Friday at 7 p.m. against Binghamton at home.
