HAMILTON – Colgate tennis has a bright future ahead. Head men's and women's tennis coach Bobby Pennington announced the addition of six student-athletes for the 2023-24 season on Thursday afternoon.
MEN'S TENNIS CLASS OF 2027
"We're bringing in two guys from the south who are both talented players from the juniors," said Pennington. "Parker McGowan has a really infectious attitude. He is very eager and ready to hit the ground running. Jerome Falcon is on the quiet side, but he lets his work ethic and abilities speak for himself.
"Both are in the top 250 of three-star athletes and are going to help our nine returners get our men's team back on track and build off what we achieved in the Patriot League Championship last season."
Parker McGowan
Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.
High School: Rivers Academy
About Parker: Parker McGowan is a three-star recruit with a career-high ranking of 223. As a junior, McGowan led Rivers Academy in the singles one slot to a state championship.
Jerome Falcon
Hometown: Spartanburg, S.C.
High School: Spartanburg
About Jerome: Jerome Falcon is a three-star recruit with a career-high ranking of 250. Falcon played singles in the one slot at Spartanburg high school, where he led the team to back-to-back state titles.

"We are bringing in a big class this year made of three three-star athletes and one four-star," Pennington went on. "Our program is eager to get back to work after our terrific finish to last season, and our newcomers are going to make us better.
"Avery Isaac is a Florida product and is going to be very talented. Carina Cristobal is from the Northeast and is going to contribute early for us. Gigi Bohan is from the south and is used to being outside all year round. Our class is led by Sophia Montero, who is a four-star athlete. It is very rare for our program to recruit a four-star athlete, so we are excited. Sophia is going to come in and contribute right away."
Gigi Bohan
Hometown: Pawleys Island, S.C.
High School: Lowcountry Preparatory School
About Gigi: Gigi Bohan is a three-star recruit with a career-high ranking of 241. Playing for Lowcountry Preparatory, Bohan held the singles one slot on the girls' team and three-slot singles on the boys' team. She helped lead the boys to back-to-back state titles.
Carina Cristobal
Hometown: Saint James, N.Y.
High School: The Stony Brook School
About Carina: Carina Cristobal is a three-star recruit with a career-high ranking of 296. For the past three seasons, Cristobal has led The Stony Brook School in the one-slot singles position to three conference championships and three undefeated seasons. Individually, Cristobal made the semi-finals of the NYSAAIS tournament for the past two seasons.
Avery Isaac
Hometown: Lutz, Fla.
High School: Academy at the Lakes
About Avery: Avery Isaac is a three-star recruit with a career-high ranking of 346. Isaac has held the single one slot at Academy at the Lakes since she was in sixth grade.
Sophia Montero
Hometown: Westfield, N.J.
High School: Westfield
About Sophia: Sophia Montero is a four-star recruit with a career-high ranking of 172. On the national level, Montero has qualified for some of the biggest junior tournaments in the United States, such as the Hard, Clay, and Winter.
