FROM THE SOURCE
Head Coach Matt Karweck
"The final score does not tell the story by any stretch of the imagination. This was a fight. We were back and forth all game and within two goals with under eight minutes to go in the fourth. I'll never forget the unbelievable defensive stand in the third quarter. Multiple shot clock resets, a quick clear and great transition shot that was saved by Loyola, and then YET ANOTHER GREAT DEFENSIVE STAND by an exhausted group, only to let up an unlucky goal shortly afterward. It felt like we made a handful of great plays or defensive stands all game, but Loyola found a way to counter and stop our momentum. My hat is off to Coach Toomey and his staff at Loyola for their composure while we did everything we could to get ahead in the game. Unfortunately, we did not make enough plays to get the win, and our post-season dreams have come to an end.
I'll tell you though, I am so impressed with our seniors. Not just in this game, but they have been engaged in every stretch of the season, through the ups and downs, the tough weather, the demanding practices, the daunting film sessions, and the disappointing Saturday results. My expectations of them were high, and they still are. These seniors are motivators, they inspire togetherness, they work tirelessly, and they never give up. Their relentless effort and focus has not, and will not, waiver as we go into our final days."
