HAMILTON – March has arrived.

For the third time in four seasons the Colgate Raiders are the No. 1 seed heading into the Patriot League tournament, where they will host the quarterfinals against Loyola Maryland at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The Greyhounds defeated Holy Cross 73-69 in the first-round matchup on Tuesday. The quarterfinal game will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Raiders are entering the tournament hot, riding a six-game winning streak and a 28-game home winning streak against conference opponents. The 17-1 record in conference is a program and Patriot league record.

THE MATCHUP
The two teams have faced off 21 times in program history. Colgate leads the series 15-6, including a current five-game winning streak over the Greyhounds. The Raiders put up their most points of the season against Loyola defeating them 101-67 at Loyola on Dec. 30. The next matchup was more competitive but the Raiders still got the wire-to-wire victory 76-63 on Jan. 30.

COLGATE CONTINUES TO CLIMB
The Raiders have displayed dominance throughout the season in the Patriot League and nationally. They rank first in the Patriot League in points per game (77.7), winning margin (8.8), and turnover margin (2.0). Colgate also ranks first nationally in three point percentage at 40.5 percent. Sharpshooter Oliver Lynch-Daniels leads the team and Patriot League at 50 percent from behind the arc. The team ranks third in assists per game (18.0), and second in field goal percentage (50.8) nationally.

FINISHING STRONG
The Raiders finished the season strong with a hard-fought road victory over second-place Navy 64-60. Keegan Records had 25 points and nine rebounds to help earn Colgate its ninth straight victory over the Midshipmen.

RAIDERS BEING RECOGNIZED
This past week five members of the team received accolades for the historic season. Matt Langel (Coach of the Year), Tucker Richardson (Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year), Keegan Records (First Team All-League and All-Defensive Team), Ryan Moffatt (Third Team All-League) and Braeden Smith (All-Rookie Team) were honored for their work this season.
