PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Colgate women's tennis opened up its spring season with a weekend split against Brown and Providence.

Saturday

Colgate opened up the weekend with a matchup against Brown that it dropped by a score of 0-7. The duo of Sasha Herman and Emme Levenson battled to the very end as they fell 5-7. 

Doubles 
Herman / Levenson lost 5-7.
Katerina Atallah / Amelia Galin lost 3-6.
Addie Eklund / Jordan Ben-Shmuel lost 1-6. 

Singles
Galin lost 1-6, 2-6. 
Levenson lost 2-6, 0-6. 
Eklund lost 3-6, 1-6.
Atallah lost 0-6, 2-6.
Ben-Shmuel lost 0-6, 0-6.
Natalie Fuller lost 1-6, 3-6. 

Sunday

Colgate secured a strong 5-2 win over non-conference Big East opponent Providence College. The Raiders were backed by strong performances from Galin, Levenson, Eklund, Ben-Shmuel, and Fuller. 

Doubles
Atallah / Galin lost 4-6.
Eklund / Ben-Shmuel lost 3-6.
Levenson / Herman won 6-3.

Singles
Galin won 6-3, 6-4.
Levenson won 6-2, 6-4.
Eklund won 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Atallah lost 1-6, 4-6.
Ben-Shmuel won 6-3, 7-5.
Fuller won 6-1, 6-3.
