BALTIMORE – Audrey Collins notched a pair of second-place finishes Friday afternoon at Mangione Pool at the Fitness & Aquatics Center to pace the Colgate women's swimming & diving team in dual competitions against host Loyola and American.
Collins was just a miniscule .02 off the winning pace in the 200-yard individual medley when she claimed second with a mark of 2:09.15. Her quick race in the 200-yard IM came after she finished second in the 200-yard fly when she touched the wall in 2:10.66, which easily secured a top-3 showing.
It was an eventful day for
Jordan Hurt, who just missed out on a victory in the 100-yard fly with her time of 57.91 seconds. She was also part of the Raiders' 200-yard medley relay team with
Brooke Garretson,
Regan Hau, and
Lucy Art that ended up third with a mark of 1:47.82.
Colgate also enjoyed another trio of individual second-place times throughout the day.
Natalie Hofer was .58 off the winning pace in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.97 and
MG King touched the wall in 5:12.36 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Ellie Sundin found herself in second at the conclusion of the 1-meter dive with a tally of 226.25.
Hau had success on the individual side as well, as she swam to third-place times in the 100-yard (1:08.16) and 200-yard (2:31.35) breaststroke.
Art had the third-best showing in the 50-yard free with a mark of 24.12 seconds and
Nora Bergstrom also claimed a third-place time in the 1000-yard free when she touched the wall in 10:51.31.

Colgate returns to Hamilton and Lineberry Natatorium next Saturday, Nov. 11 when it hosts Marist for a dual. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
