Women’s Tennis Competes at ITA Regional

Five Raiders sent to Harvard to play in prestigious tournament

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – Colgate women's tennis hit the courts at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. this weekend to compete in the selective ITA Regional tournament.

A total of 14 ITA regional invites will take place over the course of October, with over 8,000 student-athletes competing in all levels of competition. Colgate sent five standout competitors to take part in the massive tournament, with sophomore Amelia Galin and first-year Carina Cristobal providing the highlight of the weekend for the Raiders.

The pair notched their seventh win of the fall season, moving their overall record to 7-3 as a duo after four weekends of competition over the past two months. Galin and Cristobal earned a hard-fought, 8-4 victory against Quinnipiac before falling in the second round to Dartmouth, 8-4.

The Raiders were not able to steal a match in singles play, but Galin brought her bout against Bryant to the brink but narrowly lost, 6-7, 4-6.
