HAMILTON — Anna Lochhead scored twice, but the Raiders fell 6-2 to Boston University Friday afternoon at Tyler's Field.
The sophomore's first tally made it a one-goal game at 2-1 with 3:25 remaining in the second. Following a penalty corner,
Ella Murphy received a pass and fired the ball toward the goal. Lochhead redirected it into the back of the cage for the score.
Lochhead notched her second of the game with 29 seconds left in the third quarter to make it 4-2.
Dani Palmer got past a defender and played a set-up pass to Locchead for a shot she put past the goalie.
BU had previously taken a 2-0 lead after tallying a pair of goals earlier in the second. Caroline O'Brien got BU's first goal two and a half minutes into the quarter. Six minutes later, Nicole Lauro doubled Boston University's lead.
The Terriers put in another two goals in each of the final two periods to secure the 6-2 win.
Neither side could get on the board in the first. The Raiders drew three corners in the opening 15 minutes. Murphy ripped one off the first corner that got stopped by the goalie.
With just under three minutes left,
Bronwen Rees-Wiedemann fired a shot that also got saved.
Colgate had a combined seven corners in the first two quarters and recorded seven shots.
Claire van Kempen finished with six saves in goal for the Raiders.
