FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Colgate men's soccer hit the road for a matchup on Lessing Field, home of the Fairfield Stags, in a Wednesday night match. After an early red card, the Raiders remained strong, winning 2-0.
Senior
Max Edelstein found the back of the net in the 37th minute. Edelstein fired one past the Stags netminder to grab the 1-0 lead.
Timmy Donovan found the scoresheet at the 78th minute mark, heading one in off a cross from
Alejandro Coury. Donovan's goal pushed the Raiders' lead to 2-0.
Oliver Townend made his second debut of the season, standing tall with a total of four saves. The Raiders and Stags battled all night, with a total of seven cards handed out.
Colgate came out with intensity, putting pressure on Fairfield within the first five minutes of play and firing three shots within a two minute window.

Liam Winograd was addressed a red card, forcing the Raiders to play a man down throughout the game.
As play continued, Edelstein came onto the pitch and made an immediate impact, putting one in the back of the woodwork at the 38th minute mark. The Raiders finished off the first 45 leading by a score of 1-0.
The Stags came out aggressive in the second half, firing seven shots within the first 30 minutes, but Townend remained strong, as he spoiled two scoring chances for Fairfield.
Donovan found the back of the net off a cross from Coury in the 78th minute, as he pushed the Raiders lead to 2-0. Colgate battled throughout the final whistle, grabbing the win to push their record to 3-0-1
