Former Raiders Medal On The World Stage

Eldridge and Neubauerova Capture Medals At IIHF Women’s Worlds

HAMILTON – Two former Raiders captured medals on the world stage this past weeked in the IIHF Women's World Championship taking place in Frederikshavn and Herning, Demark. 

Jessie Eldridge '19 captured gold with Team Canada with a 2-1 win over USA in an intense back-and-forth matchup. Eldridge netted a total of two points throughout the tournament, scoring in the 8-1 victory that pushed Team Canada to the gold medal match. Eldridge is also the first Colgate alum to score for Team Canada's senior team in an international tournament. 

Noemi Neubauerova '22  is no stranger to the big stage, competing on the international stage before. Neubauerova made history playing with Czechia, as they medaled for the first time at the Women's World Championships, winning bronze over Switzerland. She tallied a total of three points throughout the tournament, netting the fourth goal in a 6-0 win over Germany. 

Colgate Women's Ice Hockey kicks off their 2022-23 season Saturday, Sep. 24 at 4 p.m. as the Raiders host Syracuse University at the Class of 1965 Arena.
