HAMILTON – Fred '50 and Marilyn Dunlap Head Football Coach
Stan Dakosty has announced the addition of Jordan Hogan to his staff as an assistant coach for wide receivers.
Hogan most recently served two years in the Arizona Cardinals program in the Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship, a program started by the Cardinals in 2015 to help increase diversity in the coaching ranks and provide more opportunity for experience on the NFL level.
Recently named to FootballScoop's Minority Watch List, Hogan worked with the offensive staff and served as an assistant in the quarterback room during his time with the Cardinals. He helped with the creation of install tapes, game breakdowns, play drawings, and assisted with game and practice data input among other duties.
"I am excited to join a program that has a rich tradition of producing champions on the football field, and young men who immediately contribute to the workforce," Hogan said.
Prior to his time in the NFL, Hogan spent three seasons at nearby Cornell. During his time with the Big Red, Hogan served as the wide receivers coach where he developed several record-setting players at that position.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Jordan and his family to the Colgate Football family," Dakosty said. "Jordan has an extensive amount of experience with the wide receiver position, both as a player and then as a coach over multiple seasons. He's very detail oriented and will bring a tremendous amount of energy to practice everyday.
"He gained invaluable experience working in the QB room with the Cardinals, but I know Coach Hogan is excited to get back to working directly with the wide receivers, and there is no doubt our guys will reap the benefits of all the knowledge and experience he's gained from his time in the NFL. We say all the time that Colgate attracts tremendous people, and Jordan is another great example of that."
A total of 20 different Big Red players caught at least one pass in 2018. That came despite the fact that Cornell played one of the nation's toughest schedules, with seven opponents ranking in the top 20 defenses in the FCS – including Colgate's top-ranked defense that year.
Along with his role with the Arizona Cardinals, Hogan has served in similar NFL capacities in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Baltimore Ravens in 2019, Indianapolis Colts in 2017, and the Buffalo Bills in 2016.
Hogan has had previous wide receiver coaching stops at Division II Stonehill College (2017) and Division III Buffalo State College (2013-2017). He also served as the wide receivers coach for the US National Team development game in Canton, Ohio, in 2016.
A standout wide receiver at Brockport, Hogan at the time of graduation ranked fifth in school history in career receiving yards (1,546) and eighth in catches (108). He earned All-League honors as a junior and was a preseason All-American as a senior captain.
Hogan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Brockport in 2013.
Hogan and his wife, Kayla, have a one-year-old daughter Mara Ann, and they are expecting their second child in October.
