Herzig Carries 69 to First Place Tie

First-Year Fires One-Under-Par Round on Sunday

OLEAN, N.Y. – Robbie Herzig's stellar one-under 69 on Sunday carried him to a tie for first place in Colgate's head-to-head battle with St. Bonaventure at the Bartlett Country Club.

Herzig's's 69 on Sunday was tied for his second lowest round of the season. The first-year Raider carded a 68 in the first round of the Bucknell Invitational, and he matched the 69 on his way to a second-place finish at the Mathews Auto Collegiate Invite.

Herzig fired a two-day 139 and was tied with St. Bonaventure's Jack Geise, Lance Sininger, and Erik Stauderman atop the individual leaderboard. He paced the field with eight birdies on Sunday, one more than teammates Kevin Hollomon and Wyatt Petersen.

Akhil Giri brought home a top five finish with an even-par 70 on Sunday. His two-day 141 total placed him in sole possession of fifth place. Dugan McCabe captured a tie for seventh with a 144 composite behind rounds of 71 and 73.

Jack Maguire posted back-to-back 74s to finish 13th with a 148 composite. Petersen (149) was tied for 14th and Curran Gimeson (156) rounded out Colgate's scoring contingent.

The Raiders as a team posted a 280-286=566 scorecard, while St. Bonaventure finished with a 272-284=556 to win the two-day head-to-head Duel at Bartlett.

Colgate turns its attention to the Patriot League championship, which will take place over three days next weekend (April 29-May 1) at Lafayette.
