BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate University freshman
Matt LaCombe has been named the Patriot League Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week for his play in the Raiders' 9-8 overtime victory over 17th ranked Lehigh University on Saturday, April 16, as announced by the league office Monday.Â
LaCombe stopped 15 Mountain Hawk shots and allowed only 8 goals in for a save percentage of .652. He also picked up two ground balls in the win. LaCombe, who has played every minute of every game in the net for the Raiders in 2022, has made 15 or more saves in five different games this season. In 2022, LaCombe has twice been named Rookie of the Week and twice selected Goalkeeper of the Week by the Patriot League.
Midfielder Marshall Terres was named to the Patriot League Weekly Honor Roll. Terres scored the game winning goal in overtime as part of the first hat-trick of his career. He also had a buzzer beating goal at the end of the first quarter to give the Raiders a 5-3 lead, and scored a go-ahead goal with just 39 seconds left in the fourth period.
