Raiders Wrap Up Racing at Knecht Cup

Two Boats Advance to Petite Finals

RESULTS

CHERRY HILL, N.J. — The Colgate women's rowing team competed at the Knecht Cup Regatta in Cherry Hill, N.J. this Saturday and Sunday.

The Raiders' varsity four placed fourth in its heat (8:46.87) qualifying for the petite final where they would shave off eight seconds (8:38.73) and finish sixth coming in just behind boats from Delaware, Merrimack, La Salle, and Fordham.

Colgate's varsity eight placed fifth in its heat (6:54.33) and followed that with another fifth place finish in the semifinals (7:06.22).

The Raider's second varsity eight came in sixth place in its heat (7:21.08) competing against boats from La Salle, West Virginia, and Georgetown. Colgate then took fourth place in the petite final (7:34.78).

"This weekend we gained more racing experience in a competitive field and each boat made some improvements from last weekend in Philadelphia. As a team, we didn't accomplish everything we wanted to and we are eager to get back to work. We are looking forward to hosting Lehigh, Marist, Canisius, and D'Youville next weekend."

The Raiders host a home regatta in Rome, N.Y. next Saturday. The action begins at 10 a.m.
