Patriot League Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate University's
Thomas Colucci and goalkeeper
Matt LaCombe have been named the Patriot League Face Off Specialist of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, following their play in the Raiders' 14-7 victory over Lafayette College on March 19.
Colucci dominated his opponents at the face off dot, taking 17 of 20 attempts for a winning percentage of 85%. He also scooped up a dozen ground balls in giving Colgate a decided advantage in time of possession throughout the game. Both the winning percentage and ground balls were career bests for Colucci.
LaCombe kept the Leopards at bay all afternoon, never letting Lafayette get closer than a two-goal deficit following a 5-0 Colgate lead to open the game. The freshman racked up 17 saves and allowed only seven goals for a career best .708 save percentage. The seven goals allowed were also a career low.Â
