BOSTON – Colgate's Catie Lang has Boston University's number.
The sophomore attacker equalled her career-high with four goals to help the Raiders (2-7, 1-0 PL) to a 13-7 victory over host BU (0-8, 0-2 PL) on Saturday at Nickerson Field.
Lang scored four goals against the Terriers last season and she now has a total of 10 goals in three career games against BU.
Colgate snapped a four-game losing skid with the victory.
BU opened the game with a 1-0 lead and held a 2-1 lead early in the first quarter, but Colgate rattled off five straight goals to take a 6-2 lead and never looked back.
Lang had two of those goals, while Kyra Lucey also netted a pair of goals during the run. Lucy Licata also added to the lead in the first quarter.
The Terriers answered with two straight goals of their own to make it 6-4 midway through the second quarter, but Colgate closed the half with a pair of goals, the first from Eliza Soutter and the other, coming in the final second, from the stick of Lauren Marandett that gave the Raiders an 8-4 lead at the break.
Colgate then posted the first two goals of the third quarter with Lang's third and Devon Maillet's second of the game.
Lucey, Lang and Maillet all added fourth quarter goals for the Raiders. For Lucey, it marked her third hat trick of the season and second in as many games. Maillet equaled her career-high with her second hat trick of her freshman season.
Kieran Gerow recorded nine saves in net for Colgate to earn the freshman her first career victory.
Colgate outshot BU 26-25 with 22 of those shots going on goal.
