SYRACUSE, N.Y. – It was truly a team effort that helped Colgate edge out a thrilling 4-3 victory over visiting Niagara at Drumlins Tennis Club Sunday afternoon. Junior Emme Levenson led the Raiders with wins at both no. 2 singles and no. 2 doubles.

The Purple Eagles went up 1-0 after taking the doubles point. Levenson and Rebecca Wolf defeated Niagara's Erika Gonzalez and Jaida Borg 7-6, but the Purple Eagles pulled out wins at no. 1 and 3.
 
First-year Addie Eklund, playing no. 1 singles for the Raiders, had another strong outing, dispatching her opponent, Elena Mayet, 6-0, 6-1. Niagara put two points on the board with straight set wins at the no. 4 and 5 positions.

That meant Colgate needed the three remaining singles matches to pull out the win, and the Raiders were up to the challenge. After each dropping their first set, Levenson (no. 2), Jordan Ben-Shmuel (no. 3), and Emily Untermeyer (no. 6) gutted out inspiring three-set victories to put Colgate over the top, 4-3.
