BOSTON — Colgate men's rowing put on a strong performance at the Head of the Charles Sunday, highlighted by a seventh-place finish in the Collegiate Eights race.
The Regatta is the world's largest three-day rowing event, with nearly 2,500 entries from 792 clubs with events ranging from youth to senior.
The Raiders' Collegiate Eights boat posted a time of 14:46.790 in its race. Colgate claimed seventh out of 41 boats after edging out Virginia's boat by three seconds. The Raiders also came in just ahead of crews from La Salle and Michigan. Finishing less than five seconds ahead of Colgate was Tufts and St. Joseph's.
In the Lightweight Fours race, Colgate's boat logged a time of 16:44.373, good for 13th place. The Raiders outlasted boats from Dartmouth, MIT, and Gordon College, defeating all three by over 20 seconds. Colgate also came in shortly behind boats from Harvard, Mercyhurst, Yale, Cornell, and Penn.
