Rzeszotarski Named Rookie of the Week

First-year helped Raiders go 2-0 with wins over Binghamton, Navy

HAMILTON – For the second time this season, Colgate Volleyball's Carlie Rzeszotarski has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Rzeszotarski helped the Raiders go 2-0 at home with last week's wins over Binghamton and Navy. Colgate's 3-1 win over the Midshipmen avenged the team's only league loss of the season and gave the Raiders the upper hand at the top of the Patriot League standings.

The first-year outside hitter registered 14 kills and eight digs on the week. She stood tall in Colgate's critical win over Navy, finishing with seven kills and six digs to go with a .278 hitting percentage. Rzeszotarski also added seven kills on 23 attempts in Colgate's win over Binghamton last Wednesday.

This is the second weekly honor for Rzeszotarski, who was named the league's Rookie of the Week Sept. 27. This also marks the sixth different week a Raider has earned a weekly award, joining Julia Kurowski, Rachael Martinez, and Abby Shadwick.
