Eleven members of the Colgate football team earned 2021 Phil Steele All-Patriot League honors, the publication announced. 

Led by Fred '50 and Marilyn Dunlap Head Coach Stan Dakosty '05 in his first year at the helm, Colgate had a fantastic finish to the 2021 season, winning its last three games of the regular season to claim sole possession of second place with a 5-1 Patriot League mark, defying the preseason polls, which predicted the Raiders to finish last in the league. 

First-year quarterback Michael Brescia was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year, while Colgate had seven student-athletes selected to the All-League team, including three on the first team. Senior William Gruber earned First Team All-Patriot League honors as a defensive back and a return specialist. Senior linebacker Milton Braasch II joined Gruber on the All-Patriot League First Team. Senior offensive linemen Sam Diehl and Jayvion Queen earned Second Team Offense honors, while sophomore K2 Dickens and senior J.C. Gaughan earned nods on the Second Team Defense as a defensive lineman and a special teams non-specialist, respectively.

Braasch and Gruber were also named to the 2021 Football Academic All-Patriot League Team and Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team.
