Burns '21 Invited to NBA G League Elite Camp

Patriot League Player of the Year One of 40 Prospects Selected

NEW YORK – Colgate Men's Basketball fans can turn their attention to Chicago to follow Jordan Burns '21 in the NBA G League Elite Camp June 19-21.

Burns, the first Colgate player to be selected for the G League Elite Camp, is one of 40 draft-eligible prospects in the world invited to the elite camp, which will take place at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

The selective camp gives players an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives by playing in five-on-five games and participating in strength and agility drills throughout the three-day event.

A select number of players from the NBA G League Elite Camp will be invited to participate in the 2021 NBA Draft Combine based on their performance. The NBA Draft Combine will be held June 21-27 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

Overall, 11 players were invited to the combine from the G League Elite Camp in 2019 and five were eventually drafted. The initial list of 40 attendees includes Burns as one of two players from mid-major programs. Burns will compete alongside players from programs such as Baylor, Michigan, Kansas, Virginia, and Texas Tech.

Burns capped off his prolific Colgate career first all-time in assists (503), fifth in points (1,666), fifth in 3-point field goals made (238), and seventh in steals (145). The only Raider to rank in the top 10 in scoring, assists, and steals, Burns garnered Patriot League Player of the Year honors in 2021 after averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

The fourth player in conference history to be named Patriot League Tournament MVP twice, Burns in 2021 guided the Raiders to their second Patriot League championship and NCAA tournament appearance in three years behind a 14-2 record, tying the program record for best single-season win percentage (.875). He scored 13 points, dished four assists, and registered two steals in the NCAA tournament first round against Arkansas.
