CALGARY, Alberta – Continuing her professional hockey career, Jessie Eldridge '19 was invited to compete in the first-ever Canadian Secret Cup.
An all-Canadian showcase featuring stars of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association, the seven-day event was the Canadian leg of the Secret Dream Gap Tour, in partnership with the Calgary Flames.
After recording a goal and an assist on the game-winning goal, Eldridge and Team Bauer of Montreal claimed the title.
Taking place in Calgary from May 24-30, Eldridge laced up for the six-game round robin competition that featured Team Scotiabank (Calgary), Team Sonnet (Toronto), and Team Bauer (Montreal), where after teams played each other twice for a total of four games. The top two teams then battled to be crowned the Canadian Secret Cup Champions in a single-game championship.
The first-ever Canadian Secret Cup champion, Eldridge and the PWHPA's tournament was aimed at increasing the visibility of the top athletes by providing them an opportunity to showcase their talent, share their stories and grow their fan base.
A 2019 graduate of Colgate, Eldridge plays professionally with Montreal in the PWHPA. She was a captain for the Raiders and recorded the most points in program history (163) through the most games played in program history (153).
