Game 1: Colgate 2, Bucknell 0
Misken's dominant performance marked Colgate's second consecutive two-hit shutout and the Raiders backed her with two late runs to seal the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader.
After conceding a single up the middle in the top of the first, Misken was lights out the rest of the way. She retired 13 straight batters before giving up an infield single in the fifth. That would be Bucknell's final baserunner, who never reached scoring position.
Colgate's two runs came with help from two defensive miscues in the top of the sixth. Back-to-back errors in the outfield allowed
Taylor Ludwick to score the game's first run.
Kara Fusco scorched an RBI double to score
Rebecca Johnson and the Raiders were in front 2-0.
Misken retired the Bison in order in the sixth and seventh innings to cap off her masterpiece. She allowed two hits with no walks and struck out five while facing just three over the minimum to pick up her sixth win of the season.
Christiana Cottrell paced the Raiders offensively with two hits. Ludwick, Fusco, and Cottrell belted one double apiece, while
Adrienne Nardone,
Steph Jacoby, and
Mia Guevarra each registered one hit.
Game 2: Bucknell 6, Colgate 2
Bucknell got off to a hot start with four early runs in the nightcap. A squeeze play opened the scoring in the bottom of the first before a three-run homer by Taylor Wolfgang extended the Bison lead to 4-0 in the home half of the third.
Guevarra started the fifth with one of her three hits in the game – a double to right-center.
Elizabeth Nitka pinch-ran and scored two batters later on an RBI single through the left side by Cottrell to trim the deficit to 4-1.
Bucknell answered right back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Guevarra led off the seventh with a double to right field and scored on an error, but that was it and the Bison held on to snap Colgate's six-game winning streak by a final score of 6-2.
