CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Colgate put together its best racing of the season Friday afternoon and posted a fourth-place team finish at the 2021 Patriot League Rowing Championship.
 
This marks Colgate's best team result since the 2011 Raiders finished third in Worcester, Massachusetts.
 
Colgate improved its times from the morning heats to the afternoon finals in all three races, with a highlight being a fourth-place final result by the Second Varsity 8+ that was more than 13 seconds better in the second race. The Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ both finished fifth in their respective afternoon finals.


 
Navy won its sixth consecutive Patriot League title, sweeping all three heats and all three finals to outdistance second-place Bucknell and third-place Boston University.

Women's Varsity 8+
Crew: 1 Katherine Larsen, 2 Jill Burke, 3 Victoria Pino, 4 Genna Lamphier, 5 Katherine French, 6 Mikayla Fassler, 7 Edi Dukesherer, 8 Carla Perdomo Silva.
Cox: Isabel Gephart.
Heat Result: The Raiders finished third with a time of 7:22.926. Navy won the heat in 6:49.334.
Final Result: Colgate posted a fifth-place result in 7:14.516, outpacing Holy Cross and Loyola. Navy also won this race with a time of 6:34.638.


 
Women's Varsity 4+
Crew: 1 Sarah Wallingford, 2 Gia D'Erasmo, 3 Ellinore Ament, 4 Ella Siegenthaler.
Cox: Julia McQueen.
Heat Result: Colgate was third in this heat, posting a time of 8:44.603. Navy took honors in 7:50.149.
Final Result: Colgate placed fifth with a time of 8:42.400, outpacing sixth-place Loyola. Navy won the fours with a time of 7:40.074.


 
Women's Second Varsity 8+
Crew: 1 Mariana Pennybacker, 2 Rikki Borkowski, 3 Anna Cook, 4 Eileen McCleary, 5 Jessica Kaplan, 6 Deanna Michaels, 7 Caroline Michaud, 8 Abigail Lewis.
Cox: Anna Duerr.
Heat Result: The Raiders crossed in third place with a time of 7:39.554. Navy claimed this heat with a winning time of 7:10.966.
Final Result: Colgate posted a fourth-place finish in 7:26.157. Navy earned top honors in 7:07.199.
