ITHACA, N.Y. – Colgate continued building momentum toward the Patriot League Women's Rowing Championship with a great day of racing against Ithaca.
 
The Bombers entered this weekend ranked second nationally in the Division III CRCA Poll, so it was an outstanding test. This was the second meeting between these crews in the month of April, and Colgate head coach Jessica Deitrick noticed the improvement of her Raider side.
 
"It was nice to come back to Ithaca this weekend and race again after three weeks," Deitrick said. "The team had a great weekend and showed a lot of growth. Our 2v8 had a great day and won both of their races against Ithaca. The 1v8 and the V4 both closed their margins on Ithaca.
 
"We were also able to race a 2v4 again, which gave those women great race experience. The two fours then combined and raced as the 3v8 for their second race of the day. I'm really proud of how far this team has come and I am excited to see what this team can do in the next few weeks."
 
Colgate hosts Lehigh this Saturday on the Erie Canal in a final tune-up. The Patriot League championship takes place May 14 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Results of Race 1: Ithaca claimed the honors with a finish of 7:19.77 to Colgate's 7:27.74.
Results of Race 2: Ithaca again prevailed, this time posting a finish of 7:25.7. The Raiders crossed the line in 7:43.8.
 
Women's Second Varsity 8+
Crew: 1 Mariana Pennybacker, 2 Rikki Borkowski, 3 Anna Cook, 4 Eileen McCleary, 5 Jessica Kaplan, 6 Deanna Michaels, 7 Caroline Michaud, 8 Abigail Lewis.

Results of Race 1: The Raiders won a close race to get their day started. Colgate posted a time of 7:34.2 to Ithaca's 7:37.1.
Results of Race 2: Colgate pulled away in the second race to win with a time of 7:47.2. Ithaca came home in 8:04.6.

Women's Second Varsity 4+

Results: Ithaca posted the win over both Colgate boats, finishing in 8:58.1. The Colgate 1v4 crossed in 9:17.0, with the 2v4 posting a time of 9:50.0.
 
Women's Third Varsity 8+
Crew: 1 Sofia Wilson, 2 Gia D'Erasmo, 3 Emily McAllister, 4 Kimaya Shahi, 5 Ellinore Ament, 6 Mahi Gurram, 7 Sarah Wallingford, 8 Ella Siegenthaler.

Results: Colgate's two fours combined to race against a pair of Ithaca boats. The Raiders finished third in this race with a time of 9:02.8. The winning Ithaca time was 8:28.3, with second place posting 8:29.8.
