Bass Scores; Raiders Fall To UAlbany 2-1

Great Danes Score Two in Second Half in Comeback Win

HAMILTON, N.Y.— Edward Bass' goal in the first half was not enough as the Colgate men's soccer team fell 2-1 to the University at Albany on Tuesday evening.

In the first half the Raiders had few chances, but capitalized on their first shot when Jacob Baldwin crossed the ball to Bass who slotted it into the goal.

UAlbany was presented with a handful of good chances in the first half but Andrew Cooke made some big stops to prevent them from getting on the board, including a diving stop in the 41st minute on a shot from close up.

The Great Danes equalized in the 59th minute when Andrew Weiner found the back of the net. Just three minutes later Guillermo Mijancos scored to give the Great Danes a 2-1 lead.

Despite not recording any shots in the second half, Colgate still created good opportunities to score.

In the 76th minute a free kick from just outside the box was unable to get by a wall of Great Dane defenders

Colgate was awarded another free kick in the 85th minute. Will Stroud played a ball into the box that was cleared just short of the goal line after being deflected toward the net with the Great Dane's keeper off his line.

In the 89th minute Bass played a free kick into the box that no Raider players were able to get a foot on as it was cleared away.
