COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colgate Women's Hockey senior forward
Jessie Eldridge was named a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, as announced Thursday morning by USA Hockey.
The award is given annually to NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey's top player since 1998. Eldridge has made history, as she is the first player in school history to be named to the final 10.
The senior from Barrie, Ontario is having a season for the ages. She currently leads the Raiders in goals (25) and points (45) and ranks second in the nation in goals seventh in points. She has been rewriting the program record book this season, as she has already claimed four different records this season in goals in a season (25), NCAA Division I scoring (154 points), game-winning goals (16) and career assists (85). In total, she holds or shares eight different program scoring records.
She already earned accolades this season, as she was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Month in December and also earned a league Player of the Week honor during the same month.
The other nine finalists include Jesse Compher (Boston University), Sarah Fillier (Princeton), Loren Gabel (Clarkson), Elizabeth Giguere (Clarkson), Megan Keller (Boston College), Alina Mueller (Northeastern), Annie Pankowski (Wisconsin), Nicole Schammel (Minnesota), Lovisa Selander (RPI).
The final three finalists will be announced on Feb. 28.
