HAMILTON, N.Y. – Massachusetts knocked off the Colgate Women's Swimming and Diving team by a final tally of 221-84 Saturday afternoon at Lineberry Natatorium.
In her collegiate debut,
Katie Hand had a strong showing. She finished third in the 200 Yard Fly with a time of 2:11.93.
Hand also combined with
Carolyn Silverman,
Lauren deTorres and
Madison Sullivan in the 200 Yard Medley relay for a third place time of 1:50.83.
The relay team of Sullivan, deTorres,
Lucy Bischof and Hand also won the 200 Yard Free relay when they touched the wall in 1:43.95.
Silverman had an individual top-3 finish when she claimed third with a mark of 1:01.62 in the 100 Yard Backstroke.
Beth Caruana swam well and finished second in the 200 Yard Backstroke with her time of 2:12.16. deTorres also claimed a second place time in the 200 Yard Breaststroke when she touched the wall in 2:29.69. deTorres touched the wall second in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:14.98 as well.
Kiersten Daly was third in the event with a time of 2:18.22.
Taylor Atkin and
Kelly Arel finished second and third respectively in the 500 Yard Freestyle with times of 5:38.09 and 6:01.58.
Caruana and Hand also had a 2-3 finish in the 100 Yard Fly with marks of 1:00.10 and 1:00.14.
